C L I E N T S & T E S T I M O N I A L S

CHUCK C.: You were excellent at explaining things at the basic level for newcomers to the sport and then bringing them along into more progressive techniques...you were especially good at working to get the fundamentals down before moving to more advanced lessons. You were passionate about expressing your love of boxing. This translated into an extremely positive outlook that your fellow trainers and other students could see. You were always helping out with all students and working with them to improve their boxing skills. You were a killer....you knew exactly how hard to push a boxer and to get the maximum effort out of each one. You worked them hard to bring out that extra few minutes of "pain" that contributed to a real good work-out. Your knowledge of boxing and your experience were key factors in your ability to communicate the essentials of the sport. Your students knew you not only talked the talk, but you also walked the walk. What is better than: "SPEED and POWER"...that is the best advice I could get as a boxer....except maybe : "DUCK" You were fantastic at translating your pride in being a boxer to your students. That is the best way to teach as you wanted each boxing student to feel the same sense of pride. I would work again with you in a heartbeat. When I took your class, I was in great shape and I was actually beginning to feel like a boxer...you brought your energy and enthusiasm to your classes and it reflected itself in the way your students absorbed your love of boxing and began to think of themselves as boxers.

CLAUDIA P.: Rick Ray focuses on what you need to work on to improve as a boxer and makes sure that his work out will physically kick your ass. Likable guy, despite his politics. *(from what youve witnessed): From my experience, he is by far the most dedicated trainer and is willing to work up a sweat to teach and train you how to fight. His motto, "speed and power," is forever engraved in my mind. He not only teaches you the technique, but also the strategy behind it. In addition, he forces you to challenge your fears. His professional record should say it all.

ANNA D.: I have no hesitation in recommending Ricky as a top boxing trainer. His dedication to his work and passion for the sport is contagious. As a beginner entering the boxing arena he made sure that he taught me the basics and laid a strong foundation that I can build on and with his help it's exactly what I'm doing. It's a quite a feat to find an approachable, considerate trainer in a field filled with enormous egos. I hope more people work with him to improve their overall ability as boxers.

BEN R.: By far the best motivator at the Gym. The most outgoing and approachable trainer at Church st. I personally don't think I would have been a member at Church St. as long as I have if it wasn't for Ricky. I think your coaching style is especially suited to newcomers as you are an incredible motivator and your enthusiasm for boxing is contageous. Always moving around helping people, never sitting around watching. To be fair, I am glad I got the opportunity to work with other trainers also, as I learned a lot from everyone, but that's to be expected. No single trainer can teach everything to everyone. That being said, there is no one I would rather have in my corner than Ricky Ray Taylor.

JOSEPH V.: Ricky Ray Taylor is an excellent trainer. He has an incredible wealth of knowledge with respect to boxing and fitness in general. Ricky is also very personable and knows how to motivate people to train properly. Ricky pays very close attention to each of his students. It is the personal attention he gives his students that sets him apart from his peers. Every time that I go to the gym I know that Ricky will have something specific that he wants me to work on and to improve upon. He watches his people and corrects their mechanics on the spot. Ricky has a very strong work ethic and is very patient. It can't be easy to be working with people who are not very talented boxers as compared to him but Ricky does this with ease. He manages to make the people he trains feel good about themselves and he provides people with the right combination of pushing people and easing off as necessary. I would recommend Ricky to any person who is interested in getting in better shape and wants to have fun while doing it.

CYNTHIA M.: Ricky Ray Taylor is passionate, educated, a born leader and teacher. He has opened my eyes and my mind to the universe of Boxing. What I once thought was just a televised brawl is now a thrilling technical dance, where the winner is not "lucky", but a master of offense and defense. Ricky Ray pushes me to dig deep inside and tap into energy and power that I did not know I had and he has gotten me to begin to feel muscles in my body that have been forever sleeping. Awesome. I never thought I could deliver such blows, and with the correct training and technical knowledge, anyone can learn to defend themselves and fight back if God forbid you had to. There isn't a day that I don't hear in my head "speed and power" and this doesn't just affect my boxing skills alone as I learn the sweet science, but it pushes me to give everything I have got in anything I do. Ricky Ray Taylor, the sweetest, most dangerous guy out there, is the catalyst you need to step up to the next level and learn more about what your hands, feet and mind can do. You'll be amazed!
