Ricky Ray Taylor has been a pro-active member of the Boxing community since his first bout in 1982. He won numerous State and Regional Championships amassing over 100 bouts in a career that spanned over 10 years. In 1989, a year after reaching the finals of the Regional qualification round for the '88 Olympic box-offs, he was granted a full-ride athletic scholarship to complete college while residing at the Olympic Training Center in Marquette, Michigan. Since his last competitive bout in 1993, his enthusiasm for boxing has manifested itself into roles of certified Referee, Judge, Time keeper and now Trainer.

Currently, Ricky Ray motivates and instructs Boxing enthusiasts as a Trainer in New York City. He teaches the sport to white & blue collar professionals, competitive fighters, housewives AND anyone with a willingness to learn. The valuable information relayed in EACH Boxing Training session is motivationally designed to instill a fascinating new addiction that will last a lifetime.

Where's your passion?
Below is a a short film I starred in with one of my hero's from the ring Gerry Cooney. The film is called THE FIGHT WITHIN and reflects the daily struggles of a fighter who just can't let go of FIGHTING. We filmed this in 2006 and it was truly an honor to spend a few days on the set with Mr. Cooney. Gerry's endeavors with the FIST Foundation, an organization he created to help retired fighters, reflect his overall attitude as a Champion. And here's a link to my audition tape for the movie.
